Sean McEwen is a Managing Director of RealEyes Capacity Consultants, helping organizations across Canada build stronger workplaces through inclusive leadership, psychologically healthy cultures, and sustainable workforce development. For more than 26 years, he has partnered with employers, governments, Indigenous communities, municipalities, and employment service providers to strengthen organizational capacity and improve workforce outcomes.
Sean specializes in workplace equity, diversity, inclusion, and culture, with expertise in Workplace Psychological Health & Safety, Indigenous equity, workforce development, employment inclusion, restorative team-building, organizational strategy, and communications for inclusion. His approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on helping organizations translate strategy into measurable improvements in employee engagement, leadership, and performance.
Much of Sean’s career has involved designing innovative employment inclusion services for people who have traditionally been underrepresented in the workforce. That experience has shaped his understanding of how workplace systems, leadership practices, and organizational culture influence inclusion, belonging, and long-term success. Today, he helps organizations build workplaces where people, and organizations, can thrive.
An engaging facilitator and speaker, Sean has delivered keynote presentations, conference sessions, leadership workshops, and customized training programs across Canada. He is known for combining evidence-informed practice with practical tools, collaborative learning, and real-world experience.
Sean designed and directed Western Canada’s first Employer Resource Centre for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and has helped develop regional, provincial, and national employment inclusion partnerships. He received the 2018 Award of Excellence in Employment from the Alberta Premier’s Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities.
Sean’s educational background is in Youth Services and Mental Health, and he is a Certified Employment Specialist. He has chaired both the Alberta Association for Supported Employment and the Canadian Association for Supported Employment. He works with organizations across Canada and has collaborated extensively with Indigenous communities throughout Southern Alberta. His Blackfoot (Niitsitapi) name is Oh’tskoipi’kssii (Blue Bird).
